Jak w większości filmów pana Zombie spodziewać się po nim możemy: Sheri Moon Zombie w obsadzie - Rob uwielbia obsadzać swoją atrakcyjną żonę w kręconych przez siebie filmach.. kolejny stały element programu to stylistyka białych śmieci, czyli południowy akcent, wulgarny język, obsceniczne zachowanie, niewybredne żarty, często seks z członkami własnej rodziny oraz inne seksualne wybryki. Ostatnim punktem dania Roba jest oczywiście przemoc i mówimy tutaj o wyjątkowej dawce krwi i flaków zmieszanej z lamentem ofiar i brudem i zgnilizną otoczenia (zapyziałe farmy, opuszczone fabryki, brzydcy ludzie, smród i bieda , mogą też miejscowo wystąpić obesrane toalety) Skoro już wiemy w jakie rejony grozy się zapuścimy, proponuje również nie oczekiwać zbyt wiele po aktorstwie i scenariuszu a nastawić się na rozrywkę krew i flaki w interesującej , choć miejscami również monotonnej scenografii industrialnej. Obsada, rozrywka i suspens Obsada jest wbrew pozorom atutem tego horroru, mimo tego, że z aktorstwem jest różnie. Meg Foster i Daniela Jeffa Morgana możemy znać z innego filmu Zombie Lords of Salem. Tutaj większy udział miała Foster, która wciela się w rolę podstarzałej gwiazdy objazdowego wesołego miasteczka - Venus. Jej postać jest przekonująca i zagrana nieźle, chociaż nie miała zbyt dużo do zagrania. Dalej jest oczywiście Sheri Moon, która tutaj gra swoją standardową rolę głupiej i wypacykowanej lali (swoją drogą całkiem nieźle do takiej roli pasuje..) ale jej zdecydowanym atutem jest jak zwykle dobry wygląd, chociaż już ostatnio trochę się w latach posunęła to nadal jest na czym oko zawiesić. Oglądając 31 można odnieść wrażenie, że w założeniu miał być to film, w którym to widzowie bardziej kibicują ciekawym mordercom niż nieciekawym bohaterom. W praniu wyszło jednak że nie wiadomo komu tu kibicować, ponieważ i bohaterowie i antagoniści są nieciekawi. Wyjątkiem jest tutaj postać grana przez Richarda Drakea czyli Doomhead. Drake dobrze gra niezrównoważonych psychicznie lub przynajmniej zdrowo wykolejonych bohaterów i również w tym filmie wyszło mu znakomicie. Po Malcolmie McDowellu spodziewałem się nieco więcej, ale również i on został ograniczony scenariuszem. Nie da się ukryć, że mimo nieskomplikowanego scenariusza film ten jest niezłym festynem jeśli chodzi o ogólne dziwactwo wulgarny język i obmierzłość, poziom suspensu nie dorównuje klasykom Thrillera, ale 31 emanuje swego rodzaju atmosferą zaszczucia i bezsilności głównych bohaterów, którzy jak to bywa w tego typu horrorach by przeżyć zmuszeni są przejść metamorfozę która zbliża ich do morderców z którymi się zetknęli. Scenariusz, metamorfoza i dramat schodzą na drugi plan bo główną atrakcją horroru 31 jest prosta rozrywka czyli zabawa w kotka i myszkę morderców z ofiarami. A gang morderców prezentuje się co najmniej dziwacznie. Każdy z psycholi ma ksywkę kończącą się na Head. Mamy więc Sickheada czyli plugawego karła nazistę, Psychohead i Shizohead dwóch braci świrów z piłami mechanicznymi, Sexhead i Deathhead - przedziwna para niemców czyli seksbomba i wielki transwestyta no i na zakończenie oczywiście wspomniany już wcześniej Doomhead. Scenu Gore zrealizowane są dobrze, krew leje się litrami a przemoc dosłownie wylewa z ekranu co oczywiscie dla jednych będzie zaletą dla innych nie. Czy udany? Wracając do pytania z początku recenzji. Czy 31 jest horrorem nieudanym? Niekoniecznie. Nie jest zbyt oryginalny chociaż zupełnie nie rozumiem fali hejtu która go zalała. Wielu ludzi zarzuca mu odtwórczość, banalność bohaterów,. czy prostotę scenariusza. O czym sam również wspomniałem. Szczerze mówiąc nie wiem czego wielkiego można tu było oczekiwać. Każdy, kto wcześniej oglądał filmy Roba Zombie wie, w jakiej stylistyce się on porusza i czego można się po nim spodziewać. To że zdarzyło mu się popełnić Bękarty diabła jeszcze nic nie zmienia. 31 nie jest filmem dopracowanym pod względem scenariusza. Jest to kino eksploatacji i jako takie powinno być rozpatrywane. Nie posiada atrybutów kina ambitnego, ale jest zupełnie tego faktu świadome. Można powiedzieć, że 31 nie jest beztroską podjebką tytułów takich jak Teksańska masakra piłą mechaniczną, czy Wzgórza mają oczy, a bardziej ukłonem w stronę tych filmów. Na jego obronę działa atmosfera zaszczucia głównych bohaterów, graficzna przemoc , zdegenerowani mordercy, okrucieństwo i postać Doomheada (Richard Brake) który zupełnie kradnie film. Zostałem tez mile zaskoczony tym, że grupka ludzi nie rozdzielała się jak to zwykle bywa w horrorach, ale walczyła zwartym szykiem obronnym przeciwko mordercom. To się ceni. Na niekorzyść zdecydowanie zbyt dużo inspiracji, był przecież Uciekinier, wspomniana wcześniej TMPM i inne. Na minus również trzeba przyznać mało sympatyczni bohaterowie, z których to jedynie postać Roscoe`a grana przez Jeffa Daniela Phillipsa wzbudza sympatię, no i oczywiście stylistyka białych śmieci tak specyficzna dla filmów Rob`a Zombie. Rob Roy, with Liam Neeson as He-Man in a kilt, is a respectable 18th century Scotland epic of lords versus peasants that has lots of cumbersome exposition. But it’s such a classy adventure with finely tuned classicist dialogue that its’ hard not to fall under its languorous spell. A money loan is fleeced that belongs to Neeson, his wife Jessica Lange, and a number of clan members from his lowly community. Neeson will argue for fairness, then fight for honor. What gives this story a jolt is John Hurt as a haughty aristocrat and Tim Roth as a snooty swordsman plunderer – two characters that rouse you to hate them. When Neeson is under arrest, he has a spectacular escape… If there's one thing us Jocks love it's a story about a rebel.
